Nineveh, IN — The equestrian community is in mourning following the passing of Judy McManama, a beloved show secretary and lifelong supporter of horse shows throughout Indiana and beyond. Judy passed away after a long and courageous fight against leukemia, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and unwavering friendship.

A proud resident of Nineveh, Indiana, Judy was the heart and soul behind many beloved events, including the Indianapolis Charity Horse Show, the All American Horse Classic, and various UPHA Chapter 11 Academy programs. For decades, she served as the go-to person behind the show desk — a role she filled with grace, kindness, and a touch of humor that made everyone feel welcome.

Judy was more than a secretary — she was a fixture of the community. Her beaming smile, infectious laugh, and steady presence brought comfort to countless riders, trainers, and families. She was the first face people saw when they checked in and often the last person they hugged goodbye at the end of each show. Her attention to detail and deep care for each individual made every event feel special.

“Judy was the glue that held so many of us together,” shared one longtime show participant. “She made the horse show more than just a competition — she made it feel like home.”

Even in the midst of her battle with leukemia, Judy remained committed to her work and her community. Her strength, courage, and positivity were a testament to the incredible person she was. She fought with grace, never letting her illness define her or diminish her spirit.

The loss of Judy McManama is deeply felt across the equestrian world and the town of Nineveh. Her presence will be missed in every ring, every entry booth, and every hallway filled with the echoes of her laughter. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the community she helped build.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Judy’s family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her. During this difficult time, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
