McINTOSH COUNTY, GA — A devastating rollover accident on Tuesday evening claimed the life of a Hinesville resident, leaving the community grieving. On May 27, 2025, McIntosh County emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Young Man Road, where a pickup truck had overturned and come to rest in a wooded area.

According to McIntosh County 911 dispatch, the call detailed a rollover involving a blue GMC Sierra. First responders, including emergency medical personnel, fire crews, and sheriff’s deputies, quickly arrived at the rural scene known for its winding, tree-lined roads.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the vehicle heavily damaged and overturned deep within the woodline. The sole occupant, identified as 33-year-old Dillon Parker of Hinesville, had been ejected from the truck. Authorities confirmed Parker was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Tragically, after being thrown from the vehicle, he was crushed beneath it during the rollover.

Despite rapid emergency response, Dillon Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol, alongside the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, has initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Early indications point to excessive speed and the failure to wear a seat belt as likely contributing factors, though investigators continue to examine all evidence.

Parker’s sudden death has deeply affected both Hinesville and McIntosh County communities. Friends and family remember him as a hardworking and caring individual devoted to his loved ones.

Officials are urging all motorists and passengers to always wear seat belts, emphasizing their lifesaving importance. A statement from the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office read, “This tragic incident is a stark reminder that seat belts save lives. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Parker during this very difficult time.”

No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon. As the community mourns, support is pouring in for Parker’s family as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
